Set up a toasty morning before work by starting with the right breakfast with these 8 Easy 10-Minute Breakfast Toast Ideas! Ever since I started working, I hardly eat breakfast especially if I am on a packed schedule. Recently, I decided to adopt healthier habits and thought to incorporate breakfast, such as wholegrain breads, in my morning routine.

I have 8 toast ideas to share with you, 4 savouries and 4 sweet!

4 Savoury Toast Ideas:

  • Cherry Tomato Cheese
  • Sunny Side Up Spinach
  • Smoked Salmon
  • Good Ol’ Scrambled

4 Sweet Toast Ideas:

  • Nutty Sesame
  • Banana Honey Cinnamon
  • Avocado Coconut
  • Strawberries Cottage Cheese

To start making any of these toasts, you will definitely need to have your bread toasted first. For this, there are many options including the oven, toaster ovens or even pan fry. For myself, I used the oven at 180C for 4 – 5 minutes. Additionally, if you would like the bread to be crispier, do consider flipping over and toasting the other side for 1 – 2 minutes.

Thereafter, all the fun and creativity begins! There are many ways to make easy breakfast toasts. However, my areas of priority are convenience, cost and ease of clean-up especially since it’s right before work. Naturally, this convenience also includes the ease of obtaining the ingredients and ones that are easily found at home!

Hence, you will also have probably observed that all the toasts I have use natural and healthier flavours. For example, the use of high protein cottage cheese and fruits such as avocadoes, strawberries and bananas to start the day right.

Sweet Toast 1: Nutty Sesame

Instructions: Cover half with peanut butter, half with sesame paste, topped with chopped almonds!

Sweet Toast 2: Banana Honey Cinnamon

Instructions: Layer with chopped bananas, dust cinnamon and lock in with a drizzle of honey

Sweet Toast 3: Avocado Coconut

Instructions: Firstly, form a base layer of sliced avocadoes. Then, top off with coconut flakes!

Sweet Toast 4: Strawberries Cottage Cheese

Instructions: Layer with cottage cheese, top with sliced strawberries and jam!

Instructions: Toast 4 more mins with cheese, top with chopped tomatoes and herbs!

Savoury Toast 2: Sunny Side-Up Spinach

Instructions: At medium heat with olive oil, cook both for 4 minutes

Savoury Toast 3: Smoked Salmon

Instructions: My secret to waking up later? Use ready made.. shhh!

Savoury Toast 4: Good Ol’ Scrambled

Instructions: 2 eggs, 1 tbspn milk, 4 mins at medium heat with olive oil
