Black Sesame Butter Cookies

Irresistibly delicious with a fragrant nutty aroma, these Black Sesame Butter Cookies pack a delightful punch that leave you wanting more!
Ingredients
- Approx 1/2 Cup or 65g Black Sesame, Grounded and Perferably Roasted (Read Step 1 if doing so at home)
- 1/2 Cup or 115g Unsalted Butter, Softened at Room Temp
- 1/2 Cup or 60g of Icing Sugar
- Pinch of Salt
- 1 Tsp or 5ml Vanilla Essence
- 1 Cup or 120g of Plain Flour
Instructions
- If making grounded toasted black sesame from scratch, do it at 180C, 6 – 8 minutes laying the seeds flat and turning them halfway in. Then, cool for 5 mins before grounding it using a food processor or blender until powder-like. Do not over ground or they become more paste-like.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and icing sugar until light and fluffy, approx 2 mins.
- Mix in the salt and vanilla essence.
- Fold in the flour and black sesame until a dough is formed. Transfer to a piping bag with a desired tip and pipe on a non-stick baking tray without parchment paper. Refrigerate for 5 – 10 minutes if its too soft.
- Bake at 160C for 13 – 15 minutes for chewy, or for 18 – 20 minutes for crispy. The cookies will be nicely golden brown.
- Serve and enjoy! Do let it cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
