Before these White Chocolate Brownies got published, I’ve yet to have a recipe featuring white chocolate as the star of the recipe. That surprises me considering how I am a chocolate fan regardless of the cocoa percentage, and thought it’s time for such a recipe!
These White Chocolate Brownies, or Blondies, are infused with melted white chocolates. They’re nicely fluffy, fragrant, without being overly sweet. Depending on your flavour preference, you can make these sweeter by incorporating white chocolates chips. However, if you’re afraid of these being too sweet as per the reputation of white chocolates, finish with a dark chocolate glaze!
Understanding chocolate preferences can divide people, I finished off with a 70% dark chocolate glaze. Apart from pleasing both camps of chocolate lovers, I got the best of both worlds with the light sweetness of white chocolates and bitterness from the dark!
It is easy to make these White Chocolate Brownies. Apart from it being a one-bowl recipe, you need only the most basic ingredients. Furthermore, the steps required are quick and simple, such that you might be done within 15 minutes!
However, a word of caution here in picking white chocolates. In selecting white chocolates, choose couverture, or good quality white chocolate bars because they are easy to melt. Therefore, incorporation of these chocolates into the batter is effortless. In contrast, white chocolate chips which are designed to retain their shape throughout baking will not melt into the batter well. You will probably get a headache trying to melt the butter and chips together (as I did before!).
Given how easy this is to assemble, I spent more time decorating it. For starters, you can finish with a glaze as I did in the pictures! Additionally, I also topped it off with some roasted almonds for a crunchy contrast. Of course, you can directly mix the nuts into the batter and bake it altogether.
Without further ado, the recipe!
