Breaking my bread maker machine hiatus with this soft and fluffy Matcha Milk Loaf Bread Machine version! For those who are curious, a Breadmaker machine / Bread machine makes bread making way more convenient and you just have to add ingredients at various steps. You can watch my video below to find out more.
I’ve always been a fan of breadmaker recipes and have created a few including my Hokkaido Milk Loaf (Breadmaker Recipe) and Chocolate Chip Loaf. However, my machine broke down recently and I procrastinated to get a replacement till now. Finally, I got a new one last week and I am now a proud owner of a brand new bread machine.
Before sharing more about this Matcha Milk Loaf Bread Machine version, there’s a couple of things you need to know!
Firstly, you need to understand your Bread Machine’s functionalities. This includes when to add additional ingredients such as cranberries (mine is indicated by a second beep), the various bake modes, and capacity (750g, 1000g). Understanding this allows better control in operating your machine.
Secondly, the type of yeast you are using. I am using active dry yeast which doesn’t require prior activation and I can add it in as it is. In the event you are using yeast which requires activation, consider using warm milk to help in this process!
Now that we understand better about bread machines, let me share more about this Matcha Milk Loaf Bread Machine version.
Each bite of this loaf comes with an amazing soft and fluffy texture that almost melts in your mouth! I also like the earthy, lightly bitter notes of Matcha which complements my morning cup of coffee. However, note that the Matcha in the loaf may come off to be too bitter/strong for some!
When I was experimenting with this recipe, I used commercial Green Tea powder as Matcha can be pricey. As such, if you are unsure if this is the loaf for you, consider making it with the more affordable and equally flavourful Green Tea powder.
Then, I added just a tad bit of cranberries for a sweet note to this Matcha Milk Loaf. A bit goes a long way here as too many cranberries can overwhelm the gentler flavours of Matcha.
Without further ado, the recipe!
